Empire Summits — 46er & Tower Tracker

⚠ Safety notice: Hiking in the Adirondacks is inherently dangerous. Cell signal is unreliable or absent across most of the High Peaks region. Weather can change rapidly. Empire Summits is a progress-tracking tool, not a substitute for proper preparation, paper maps, a compass, sound judgment, or letting someone know your plans. You are responsible for your own safety.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Empire Summits, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of the service

Empire Summits is a free Progressive Web App that helps you track personal progress on the Adirondack 46 High Peaks, the Winter 46, and the Fire Tower Challenge. The app runs entirely on your device and does not require an account.

Empire Summits is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind. The developer makes no representations about:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Empire Summits. This includes injuries, property damage, missed reservations, navigational errors, or any harm associated with hiking.

5. Trailhead, GPS, and trail information

Trailhead coordinates, trail distances, elevation gains, parking information, and seasonal closure notes are provided as guidance only. They are sourced from OpenStreetMap, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), AllTrails-style user reports, and community input. They may be inaccurate, out of date, or wrong. Always verify trailheads, road conditions, and parking access using current official sources before driving or hiking.

6. Submission to official challenges

Empire Summits can generate text and CSV exports designed to match the Adirondack 46ers and Fire Tower Challenge submission forms. The developer is not affiliated with the Adirondack Mountain Club, the Adirondack 46ers organization, the Catskill 3500 Club, or any other organization that administers these challenges. Submission rules and acceptance are determined solely by those organizations.

7. Photos you attach

Photos you attach to a visit are stored locally on your device only. By attaching a photo, you confirm you have the right to use it. The developer never receives, stores, or transmits any photo.

8. Third-party services

The app calls third-party services (OpenTopoMap, Open-Meteo, Wikimedia, unpkg, Google Maps for the Directions link). Their respective terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. The developer is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of these services.
